The mother of all road trips: WY-UT

I know it looks like Scotland, but that, my friends, is Eastern Utah, after an unusually cool, wet Spring. I don't know if I have ever seen it more beautiful.

We shot out of Cheyenne and made a beeline for the Beehive State. After several days and roughly 2,000 miles of driving, nothing could be more sweet than going home. Even if it was for only a day and a half.

So we chilled with the family, enjoyed time with nieces and nephews who have grown up way too fast, had a barbecue with way too much food, slept in the bed I grew up in (yes, it survives, even to this day) and had a beer with the man who introduced me to the lovely liquid in the first place.

The photo above in from the roof at the Green Pig. We took Trax downtown and back. It was a beautiful day and I was once again reminded that the quality of life in Salt Lake City is as high as the mountains that surround it.

Then it was back home, to the backyard lawn I used to mow.

By this point in our journey both Marissa and I were exhausted. The rest did us good, the family did even more good. I didn't get to see all of them, and I didn't even get pictures of all of those that I did see. But still, I sat there, munching on a sausage, happy as could be that I was now going to be living much closer to home.
