I would never just show up and demand anything, no matter how American I might be
Holy Ambivalance
…on the other hand, should all of that talent and treasure been put towards building an edifice that merely symbolizes one strange explanation of the meaning for existence? Rather than a spectacular and enduring piece of propaganda, couldn't they have put their energy into actually improving this life now, for all, particularly the weak?
Mofongo and Me
Mofongo is a mixture of mashed fried plantains, garlic, and pork bits. It i a delicious Puerto Rican staple.
Monsieur Poulet
Each town did it a little bit differently than the next. In Nîmes it was stuffed with a kind of tapenade, which added an earthy saltiness. In Avignon, they used lots of herbs. In Alès it was just simply roasted.
The Biggest Spider in Southern France (La Plus Grande Araignée Dans le Sud de France)
Like four Russian ballerinas carrying a large mink duffel bag.
Provence Arrival
We had crossed an ocean, staged a successful rendezvous despite arriving in two foreign cities that are roughly three hours apart AND (this might be the best part) found the only grocer in all of southern France open on Sunday, which just happened to be a mere 10 minutes from our home.
Not Exciting, but Very Pleasant
…2.5 hours north of New York City and 90 minutes west of Boston, in an area that alternates between old mill towns and farmlands, including dairy farms and fruit orchards. It is picturesque in places, from the Connecticut river running through the valley to the pretty rolling hills on the route to Northampton.
El Greco y Mazapan
Toledo has a long history of multiculturalism, dating back 2,000 years. Christians, Muslims and Jews have all left a mark, which is reflected in the architecture and the food.

Bruges, 2008
Once one of the leading port cities in the Western World, its port silted in by the 14th Century and Bruges lost its commercial and cultural preeminence. Amsterdam, 2008 Purple Haze
One of my favorite moments was sitting on a bench on the Spui, scooping delicious curry and noodles from a carton, watching people walk by or watching the people at the outdoor tables of the bars on the Spui watching people walk by.
Scotland 2008, Part 2
We spent our days driving along narrow roads through near-psychedelic landscapes, stopping to look at fuzzy cows, ancient castles, clear waters and blue, blue sky.
Scotland 2008
…along the way was The Falkirk Wheel, which just happens to be one of the most elegant engineering marvels of the 21st century.
Paris 2007
We left Atlanta the night before Thanksgiving and enjoyed Turkey Day walking along the Seine. Our first sight of Notre Dame made Marissa cry.
Montreal 2007
We wandered all over the city, we ate St. Viateur bagels, we drank beer at Else's while playing "Pass the Pigs", we had some amazing cappucino and pastries.
Berlin, Rome, Sicily 2006 - 2007
I ate pickled fish every morning. We drank delicious beer. We got around all over town with the fabulous metro system.
Mr. Make-out
I LOVED KISSING GIRLS. The sweet scent. The soft skin. Warm breath on my face. Pliant lips pressed against mine. The delicious tongue. Get out of here! Kissing girls was SO MUCH FUN!
Toronto - Niagara 2006
Of course we took the Maid o' the Mist.
Will Clint Eastwood be waiting for us,
